Hell yeah it's a trend. Look around. I keep hearing about about shops closing or laying off. Even sponsors on other boards are pulling out. A lot of big name shops have closed up recently. The only way for this to stop is for people who still have money, to spend it. People are scared and they want to save thier money, but that doesn't stimulate the economy. Its a viscious cycle, that has to come to an end quickly. So make sure you spend your extra $13 on car parts to keep the shops around and the hobby alive.

With GM not producing performance cars in the near future, we need the aftermarket strong in order to be competitive.

I'm referring to big names going down. I know of many shops that do this and that, but I don't want to see other big names go down too.
