Default cordless impact wrench-craftsman/dewalt/snap on/IngersolRand ?

I want to get a cordless impact wrench. I have a $300 gift card at sears and was going to get the 18volt model pictured below but even the salesman doesn't have alot of faith in hte wrench.

http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...00&tab=spe#tab

From reading some threads, it seems like the Dewalt and the Snap are the most popular/effective.

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item....re&dir=catalog

http://www.dewalt.com/us/products/to...productID=6347

2530K Cordless Kit
Model/ Voltage/ Drive/ BPM/ Free Speed rpm/ Torque Range ft-lb/ Max Torque/ Total Weight with battery/ Sound
2530/ 19.2V/ 1/2"/ 0 - 2,200 rpm/ 0 - 1,650 rpm/ 25-280/ 350 ft-lb/ 7 lb/ 90 -101 dBA

So I thinking I'll save the sears gift card and get the dewalt or the snap on. I am looking to this for this for portability, take it to the track, ect. I want to use it to take off lugs, especially the the lugs off my 8 lug truck, (big requirement, if it does this I will be happy) exhaust clamps, & suspension stuff

The Dewault is more economically prices at ~$270 compared to the rest

I am leaning to the IR because it has the highest toque rating, is lightweight and is medium priced. What do you guys think?

How much is the IR? I have a regular IR ( 2135TI I believe) The Titanium 1/2, and I love it. The ratings on it are 750 forward and 1000 reverse, it will take off pretty much anything with the exeption of some heavy duty ****. I like the IR that you have a link too I am thinking of getting a battery impact for the same reasons as you listed. Never used the IR battery powered but based on my knowledge of there air power line I would trust its quality. For what its worth I have used the craftsman one shown and was not impressed, it seemed weak, Dewalt also makes a good product. Snap on one is too expensive for what Ill be using it for, but it is no doubt nice.

Also on a side note, My IR that I have is rated at 90psi max and I have run it at 185 for about 2yrs now. It keeps on kicking....

I definately like the IR. It seems to be the leading candidate @ 350FT.LBS, unless snap on come out with a rumored 24v that i read about in another post. May wait and try the craftman just to see how it does
(sales guy told me to just return it if it didn't do the job) since i have the credit.

I don't expect it to do all, but do want it to be able to remove lugs, exhaust clamp bolts, and others. I always give everything a good hand tight pass with my big snap on 1/2 rachet or my torque wrench just to check.

From experiance......Dont expect TOO much from it.....If you think you are using it at the track to change tires, think again

I've got a Snap On 1/2 inch 18 volt impact and I've been using it daily for 3 years. It'll pull properly torqued lug nuts off without a problem. I'm a professional mechanic, so I use it for work and at the track on the weekend. I've tried several others and nothing has matched the snap on yet.

I have the same one, 1/2" drive 210 ft.lbs. 18 volt. Works great. I have the ingersoll rand 1/2" and 3/8" titanium impacts that I use at work with the compressor but on the street and at the track I use the Snap-on.

I have a DeWalt 18v 1/2" elec impact gun that I got for Christmas last year from wifey, the thing kicks butt. I'm sure that the IR and SnapOn ones are great too though...I've always had great luck with IR air tools and have a ton of SnapOn stuff.
