Totally justified. The crowbar, or whatever it is, is a lethal weapon and you don't meet lethal force with less lethal force. They even tried to tase him, which had no effect. Releasing the dog would not have prevented him from inflicting serious injury or killing someone. Lethal force at that point was the only option.

 

There were a lot of shots fired but in the moment when you and your partners life are on the line I can understand getting trigger happy. Just because they're cops doesn't mean they're not human. No innocent bystanders were hurt, the bad guy was eliminated and the cops get to go home to their families. Overzealous trigger finger? Yeah. Punishable action? No. IMO

WHAT ONLY 10 SHOTS? Yes, once he was down, it was time to stop, but with that many officer's present, only 10 round shot.

 

I bet the officer only hit him with about 5 at best lol.
