In a turn signal housing.....




ok, on my Toyota but still, has anyone ever seen that and how to resolve?

 

Yes. I've seen it on a variety of rides including my '92 Camaro.

Resolved by buying another. Serious, that's what I did, but it was nasty inside too tho.

Or, if in good shape, hopefully u don't have to cut apart housing & reseal. I remove it from moist environment, or drill a tiny hole in bottom. Reseal housing even if it's not cut apart w/. clear silicone on back (non visible area). Make sense?

Normally i don't go outta my way for an import, nor reply to import threads, but I'll make an exception for you.
Plus, I know it can be resolved.

 

it's a new part. I just got it from certifit. I guess I need to call them and ask about their return policy but the shipping was more than the part (still saved over local pricing) but if they wont take it back on their dime I guess I'm screwed.

 

dry it out and put some silicone around the edges. I was having the same problem on mine and this fixed it.

 

one of my clear corners has some in it, i took it off and tried to vacuum out all i could then seal edges with (more) silicone but its still got some in it and now is all water marked on the inside. plus it broke going back in so just gonna have to get a new one next time it comes out.

Ive been getting cheap chinese lights for a long time now, and ever since the first set of taillights along time ago messed up on me ive been putting silicone on what i can to try and seal them good ever since, before they even go in fwiw..

also on a side note i think there should be a hole somewhere on the housing with a sticker screen to vent but keep moisture out, make sure thats not missing or broke.. i know it will be on a headlight assembly, not sure if it will be on a turn housing tho.

 

i've always gotten a replacement as well, esp. with a brand new part

you will need to lower the latent heat of vaporization of the condensation, to do this you will have to put a vaccuum on the atmosphere inside the light and then heat it with a blow dryer. If you dont have the patience for that then set it outside in the Cali sun for a couple days with the bulbs out of the housing.

We usually just replace them...if it's a new part and the bulb socket is sealing, then the two plastic pieces of the housing are not sealing. I'd send it back...if they give you problems, you could always re-seal the two halves with clear silicone
