This is in regards to the new Toyota Tundra which is attempting to grab a share of the large truck market away from the big 3....(GM, Ford, Dodge)
This in particular is speaking about the Tundra commericial that shows a Tundra going up/down a big hill...

This was forwarded to me from a GM rep:

The Voice Over at the beginning of the spot says...."It's tough pushing 10,000 lbs up a steep grade". Myth: Toyota would like the audience to believe the trailer is 10,000 lbs. Fact: It's a 5,000 lb truck pulling a 5,000 lb trailer. A little slight of hand? You bet.

Then, on the way down the grade, the camera zooms in on the brakes as the vehicles comes to a screeching halt just prior to the end of ramp. Next time you see the ad....look for the 'mice type'. It indicates the trailer is equipped with electric brakes. Fact....the electric brakes stop the trailer -- not the truck. A little slight of hand? You bet.

And why does Toyota have bigger brake pads? They need them....their truck is heavier. Stopping distance between our truck and theirs is virtually identical. And why does Toyota have a 6 speed transmission? To improve their fuel economy....which is still 2 mpg less than ours.

And don't forget....their big V8 has one axle ratio -- a 4.3. xSuck fuel much? Our trucks offer several axle options to optimize towing and fuel economy. Bottom line: OUR TRUCKS ARE BETTER! Spread the word.......we can all make a difference

I had plenty of doubts when I saw this commercial, this helps prove the ones I didn't catch myself.

The way I see it in the next few years taking fleet sales out of the equation.

1. GM/Chevy
2. Toyota
3. Ford
4. Dodge
5. Nissan

I have two freinds with new Tundras and they are very well built trucks. The Crewmax is frickin huge. But I also have friends with new GMC's loaded. GM is still my choice.

other than 2 months of my driving career all i have owned is chevy or chevy powered vehicles. i just cant seem to bring myself to buy anything else. everytime someone i know gets a new car i have to drive it though just to see if im missing out on something but im always drawn to chevy. funny too cause my parents are die hard ford people. my dad used to work for a ford dealer as a mechanic.

yea ive seen that posted a few times...

I dont care even if they are one of the fastest stock trucks out there and rated to tow 10k lbs... big woop...
ive towed 12k lbs with my truck but its rated for 7800lbs or something.... just because they are rated for this or that doesnt mean squat.

Some people get all hyped up because of commercials and this and that....

I dont see too many engines goin through as much as mine has and still hold up.. mine might blow this weekend but its had a hard life and now its even harder with boost..

I like chevys even if they are the "slowest" stock and what not... EFI Live has a fix for that...

It would be nice if they would come out with a 6L100000E to hold as much power as a Dmax and help out with Fuel Mileage,, then GM would own all!!!

Think one day we will see 25mpg+ in a full size truck?
It would sure be nice!
