I think my truck sounds badass. I like to lope and shake my Comp cam provides. I also think people think it sounds cool.

In reality, everyone else just thinks my truck runs shitty....

I pull up to Security Shack where I work for a random search:
Me: "Should I turn off my truck?"
Guard: "Nah, it sounds like its running bad. You must have a clogged fuel filter or bad muffler or something... You should get that checked out..."
Me: "Nah, its OK."

Then I proceed to roll my eyes so hard they get stuck in the back of my eye sockets.

I realize this guy's an idiot and doesn't know the difference between and camshaft and lug nut, but its still annoying and makes me want a smooth running vehicle again.

I wonder what AFR 205 heads would do on a 6.2.... With stock cam and 11.5CR...

 

lol Its only the ignorant ones that say that crap. I used to get that all the time, talk about super annoying and no one appreciates the time and money you have invested.

 

Don't have a cam in my truck yet but it on my list of things to try and accomplish this winter.

Personally I love the sound of a camed motor. I think the number of people thinking it sounds badass would outweigh the ones that think it's running like ****.

I get " Why would you want a big cam in a truck if you don't use it to pull".

I just laugh..... and say because I can! I get asked that at work (military) and by the civilian guards at the gate.

 

A tame cam and FI is the way to go. Choppy cams get annoying sitting in traffic after a long day.

 

Build what YOU want man, F a random person who has no weight in any capacity of your life. I've had many similar run-ins but sometimes I'll take a little time to explain a few things and they may or may not get it but either way they walk away a little more aware that it's not the distributor in the wrong place lol

 

Even worse when you have a quieter than stock exhaust like I do and you can still hear the lope, and see the truck shaking a little because of the solid mounts. People that know, love it. People that don't think it's a death trap that is going to burst into a kitten killing fireball at any given second. I'm fine with that.

 

had a similar experience with a friend of mine who has no knowledge of cars, we were out at some car meet and a T/A with a huge cam was backing out of a spot and dies, he says look at the POS it died, some people just dont get it

 

Ive gotten alot of compliments on mine only a couple of weird looks and some retarded girl that said ” what's wrong with your truck it sounds like a pissed off coke can” hilarious!!
