Default Cadillacs FTL!!

My Dad purchased a 2001 Cadillac Devil with 24,000miles about 3 years ago and it been nothing but trouble. It has the infamous Northstar

So its been in the shop on and off for stupid crap and because its a caddy the bill is always 800 or better. well if you dont know they leak like crazy. he took it in to have them fix the leak, 1600 to replace a gasket. they had to pull the motor all the way out to do it.

he comes home and it still leaks...
takes it back in and they say there is an upper pan that is hard to get to, my Dad tells them to get it done.

Well they stripped out the bolts and they are not ones you can drill out, so they are suggesting he replace the motor...ON HIS BILL!!!!
another 1600, i told him no freakin way, the shop is liable and should pay for the new motor because they broke the damn bolts and cant fix them

AAAARRRGGGGGHHHH!
rant over...

Damn that sucks bro, I know what you mean, my dad bought my mom a 04 dts deville last christmas and it was in the shop 4 times to have a SES light checked out.. Other then that it has been fine, no leaks..Knock o wood Before that mom had a 98 eldorado, that thing had over 250k on the clock, all we ever had to do was put a starter, a belt on it, never any trouble.. Sorry bout your bad luck

John

The Northstars came off the assembly line with leaks, who knows what GM f-ed up, but I have never seen one that didn't **** oil out of the mid-seal. At least it's not a Catera.
