I'm looking to buy a DD
but not sure what to get. I figure I'm willing to spend 4-5K on it.
Here are the Must-have's:
- Stick shift. (They are more fun)
- Good on Gas mileage, +30mpg (Diesel's are welcome)
- Comfortable (I drive 150miles a day)
- AWD (no a must but would be good)
- Cool factor (I don't want to be seen in a 99 busted *** neon..sorry Brian)
- Minor potential. (Don't want it to become another modded car but some pep could be fun)
Was thinking either a 2000 AWD Audi A4, or a VW Golf...any ideas?

you shot my first idea all to hell with 2 and 4
anyways, what a bout a late model (96 or newer) civic - 5speed, 30+mpg if you dont kick in v-tec all the time( dont laugh, its true), comfortability is an opinion to everyone as is what is a streetable stall speed., only FWD though, cool factor could be either way. with boltons they are quite peppy, their lightweight will feel much faster than your heavy truck even with much less power
your price range reduces options greatly

What was your first option anyways? Gas mileage is a must but the AWD would be a bonus.

for my DD i picked up a loaded 4 door blazer. its DIC was claiming 18mpg, with room of a mini suv you could always crash in the back when tired
maybe a used trailblazer
sticks IMHO suck as DD. i got so tired of driving a stick daily.

I think because of the aftermarket parts that's out there for civics I'd start looking at small mods and then get into it more and more, etc...

Subi = subaru??
Max = maxima or Dmax??
I wouldn't mind a subaru actually...definetly not a STI though...talk about temptation to mod that thing!!!
