It's gotta be either that dry brown or juicey green color then, ok?

Good luck on the search, I'm looking too but my commute is 5 miles so some pos will do for me.

I was actually being serious about the 1999 Chevy Lumina..

Or, a Dodge Intrepid.

I would say a bike, don't blame you for the reason you wouldn't, but it never rains in socal... wish it ws like that here in houston...sometimes. A Subaru WRX sounds like a good compromise though.

i like my bike alot but lately its been my DD. its nice but sucks. when your tired its not the best thing to be on when tired. atleast with 4 wheels you have abetter chance. but if i dont beat on the bike i can see around 48mpg if i beat hard on the bike i see around 35mpg. down fall you run 93 octane but and see about 170 a tank if you push it into reserve....this is being a 04 1kRR

My DD is a 93 s13 Nissan 240sx. It's a blast to drive, it's RWD, and I get around 25-30mpg. Shoot it even has HUD...pretty neat for being that old.

It is tempting not to mod tho....especially since they make kits to swap LSX's in place of the KA24DE.

Another really fun DD car is the SVT Focus. My buddy has one and it is a heckuva DD. It is a quick little car that gets over 30mpg easily has a 6-speed transmission and a really really nice interior. If I had the money I would have gotten one.

hate to say this, but , your best bet for 4.-5k is going to be a civic.... they are actually pretty good, I just sold mine this year which I regret, drove it for 2yrs with no problems and gave me 33-35mpg, cant beat that for a DD IMO...???

grand prix GTP or buick regal GS supercharged, only in automatic, but are great daily drivers, you can lightly mod them to be a low 13 second car and still get 22-25mpg
