Default Bought a new truck... Not LS based..

Sold my silverado on the 6th because I couldn't pass up the offer. After days and days of looking and test driving I finally made up my mind.

I found a 99 Lightning with 41,000 original miles in pristine condition with a lot of aftermarket stuff done (smartly).

Pics will be up as soon as the snow melts up here.

Sounds like a fun truck.
Hows the trans hold up in those things?

It has a valve body in the trans, but for the most part the transmissions and rear ends are pretty stout in these. The weakest link has been taken care of with the forged short block, the stock bottom ends in these have super weak rods from the factory.

Congrats! It's hard to hate on a L, I've always loved them. I bet that thing screams. Did the last owner have any track times?

How does it run compared to your old truck?

No track times since the guy built it. He was a truck driver and it sat in the garage and got drove maybe once a month (hence the low low mileage) It does scream even on 16lbs. of boost. Haven't had good weather up here to really get on it. But looking to up the boost to 20-22lbs in spring.

It is way more stout, no comparison really. This should be high to mid 11's with the low boost on the 2.6 Kenne Bell...Should be in the 10's when the boost gets turned up.
