Blown LS3 and LS9 question
#1
It looks like the message got messed up some how when I tried to post...
Ok Ive seen where people are putting TVS2300 Blowers on an LS3 and the ZR-1 has the 2.3L and new V has the 1.9L but are both considered to have the LS9. I dont mean to sound dumb but is putting the 2300 on an LS3 pretty much make it an LS9?
As far as like say on a '10 Camaro or a swap etc...

LS9 compression is 9.1 vs LS3 of 10.7. Also, the LS9 has titanium, sodium filled valves, a forged crank, and ti connecting rods. The LS9 also has the LPE GT-9 cam (not identical, but pretty much the same cam). I would say that an LS3 with a TVS2300 is very similar to an LS9, but not identical. I don't know what an LS9 crate sells for, but I think the best bang for the buck would be a used LS3 that's then punched out with a forged rotating assembly and a TVS2300 on top.
