well i got a 93 honda accord that doesnt run. played out on my a few months ago. anyways i can probably sell it as is for about $400 bucks, but i was wondering if i donate it would it be worth it. Could i possibly get more back on my income tax next year or should i just try to sell it? thanks fellas

depends on how you do your taxes, usually if you take the average deductible, small donations like 400 wont change your refund at all, but if you add that on top of everything else you donate and have more than whatever the magical number is, you could benefit from it.

I can't say i agree with cheyenne383. cash is king yes. but only is you're strapped for it. Otherwise I kinda like the idea of car donation for Charity!

When I dumped my girlfriends old 94 Tauras I had 2 options. It was either $150 cash or the same as a tax reciept........ well for that I will take cash, lol. Sad part was for $150 I drove the car about 40 miles to the yard. Just had to make sure it had oil and coolant in it...... because it ate both in large quantities... Lol

If it were me, I'd give it to a needy family if it were reliable at all. But if you need cash, $400 is definitely better than nothing. Donating it won't make a big enough difference as a write off, so if you're looking for the best cash value, definitely forget donating it.
