yea.... with a 100 foot tape.... about 30+ years ago.... got caught by the Highway Patrol while I was doing it!!! SOB!!! back then it was on a very isolated road... no one was ever on it.. Perfect place!! Never saw a cop out there, go figure!! He told me I needed to take it to Dickenson!! ( Houston's Dragstrip of the time )... Figured I would catch some chit over it but that is all he said ( I had my Roadrunner there with the slicks on it!! ) Ah well.. be careful !!!!

go to your local feed store and get a pace counter. we have one we rent and it has a big wheel with a counter on it. one man drives.. other man sits on tailgate and drags counter. takes 2 minutes tops.

I have a pace counter too.... I have me a little "strip" marked off at home too WAY up out of the way.... its a cool little thing to have for when someone wants to talk **** and say "I'll race you right now, if we had a 1/4 marked off" ... all you have to do is tell him "we can do that right now buddy"... and then proceed to drag him about the paved area

Even if you could mark off the 1/4 mile distance, how will you get an accurate ET and MPH? A 1/4 mile stretch of road is useless to me unless I have an accurate ET and MPH reading. Take it to the local dragstrip!!!!

thats what we do..
who ever is in front..
https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...d.php?t=365082

From the stop sign to the first drainage ditch. its almost exactly 1/4 mile.
All the black guys go out there late on friday nights and race. so now we go out there.. plus my friend has land on both sides, and they farm so there arent any trees or anything. if you run off the road all you do is hit the crop rows..
but thats what we do.. plus no cops, its about 20miles from the nearest city.
