My truck is 6000lbs LOL, and has a huge wheel opening. Alot of really good sticky tires just aren't available in a 32-33" tall tire. I thought about the nitto 420s, I ran them in the past but dont remember how they were on traction to be honest,that was about 7-8 years ago. I remember the nitto 420 being good in the rain. I was kinda worried about wet traction with the Hankooks tread pattern, but the reviews say they are fine. And the nittos are special order in 275/55/20s, I can drop down to a 285/50/20 and can get them though.

 

I need a new set. I'm going with the 420s again. Good looking tire and has lasted almost 4 years.

Hate that they are special order for the 275s. I put 22s on my f150. I run the same nittos on them. They are special order also.

 

for a 20" wheel, the 555R is about your only choice with any decent power.

 

Great choice. I'm on my second set on my Tahoe. Got 40k miles on the first set and they stick like glue; I'm putting about 525rwtq down and I break hard parts before I break them lose (input shaft, Yukon limited slip, and front planetary)

Great wet traction, quiet on the highway, and unbeatable dry traction. For the $, can't be beat.

 

Ok, went with the hankook ventus st rh06 tires. Current wheel and tire weight is over 23lbs lighter than the all terrains/wheels that were on the truck. Gas mileage improved, ride and handling improved, and traction did as well. If I cut all the traction control off and leave hard, I am still getting alot of wheel spin, but with forward movement, unlike with the all terrains that just sat there and spun. The dry and wet handling has greatly improved, and the truck rides ten times better now. Truck feels like it gets off the line faster now, and faster from a roll as well. Got to take it back to the track soon to see what it will do. With the weight difference, less rolling resistance, and dropping the air pressure some I am positive I can shave 2/10s minimum off the track time.
