The wife and I just got back from our Canada vacation.. We flew into Calgary, then stayed a few nights at a Lodge in British Columbia (WAY OFF IN THE STICKS). All in all it was an awesome trip, we did tons of hiking and saw alot of wildlife, include 2 bears!!! On a side note, we hated Banff, it was just a tourist nightmare, all kinds of ******* walking around.... HUGE tourist herds of Asian people, most of which carried a set of directions tied around their neck because they only spoke Japanese.... So i would not recommend Banff...

We also did a trail ride which was fun until our guide went insane and went off trail... Basically we were climbing up a mountain in the middle of the forest, knocking over bushes and bumping against trees... towards the end my horse got a little spooked and knocked me off, and i fell about 10ft to the ground because we were on a side of the mountain and i landed on my face and shoulder...

We went to see the Canadian Rockies and the Glaciers

We are planning on going to Alaska in 2 years

Depending on the time of year you can do some camping, fishing, hunting. Go check out the sea life center, do a glacier tour etc...

I loved that part of Canada -- I stayed at Chateau Lake Louise when I went. The hotel over looked one of those mineral lakes.
