I got one of those red light traffic camera tickets. I'm not one to blatantly break traffic laws, especially if cameras are watching my every move lol. I got flashed anyway and got the info in the mail just last week. Some people say you can just ignore these tickets in the mail and nothing bad will come of it. Anybody had experience with this?

Ive had a couple here in texas, Nothing happens as far as driving record but when you go to renew your tags they wont let you until pay the fines and they tacked on another 20 bucks for a late fee

Ok, so in ARIZONA...
you can actually ignore them here, until you are personally served by someone they cant tell whether or not you have actually received it therefore never convict you of it. I would ignore it until then. A shitty loop hole which got me is I didnt live with my parents when I got my last one (last Jan) and they served my dad and considered it as me getting served. However my ex's mom got served and she got hers dismissed so it really just depends on how the judge see's it.

Mine was sent to my mom's place here in Tucson. I was en route to my next base when I bought the truck so thats where I had it registered. There is a time limit on it though...it says on the ticket, "By signing and returning this coupon within 30 days of the date mailed, you are waiving personal service and avoiding the associated costs." To me that sounds like if I don't sign and return this stuff, it's up to the discretion of the officer to go to my mom's place and personally serve me (even if I don't live there). That sound about right?

As Joshua said,
Unfortunate? What that the camera co. gets most of the ticket $. It's unfortunate this is how they go about it, w/. a camera, not a real cop. If no accident occurs, no ticket. IMO, that's the only time a traffic camera should have this "kind of power" on motorists.
Anyway, I didn't know that most revenue went to that co.; but it makes sense why they want to install em. To line their own pockets.
What if you're the only 1 listed on your ins.? For instance, my bro is only 1 listed on my policy, other than me of course.
cdub81, what u said sounds a lot more familiar, "Nothing happens as far as driving record but when you go to renew your tags they wont let you until pay the fines and they tacked on another 20 bucks for a late fee."
The states were pretty clever to increase revenue, let's punish people, regardless if they can't afford addt'l late fee or don't drive some vehicles. No good POS's!!!
I think the time limit thing is gonna bite you smokeshow, plus it sounds like you'd get hit w/. court costs if beyond the 30 days.
