Default Anyone here have a honda goldwing?

Dont laugh guys. I guess this question should go out to members here over the age of 40. My wife informs me yesterday that she wants me to get a goldwing so that we can start taking some scenic rides and long weekend trips. I'm not getting a new one, probably one that is 4 or 5 years old. If yall know someone selling theirs please let me know. And if one of you guys has one, how do you like it?

My Grandparents had a goldwing for 15 years and i believe they took it to 39 different states. They ultimately sold it because my grandfather couldn't stand it up any more.

I have ridden several and two of my close friends have goldwings. They love them as do there wives. My wife wants me to get one but I would rather buy a convertible vette. Vettes are less likely to get splattered.

My folks have an 06(?) Wing and they love the hell outta that thing. They have taken it from the DFW area to California, up across Nevada and Colorado, and back home. A trip or two to Arkansas and New Mexico, and they are headed to the Big Bend area here in a couple of weeks. It's a Honda, man. As long as you take care of it, it'll last forever.

Great bikes. My grandpa had a few and they practically drive themselves. They can definitely get out of their own way too. You can also get a trike kit for them to make them a 3 wheeler. Solves the problem of not being able to stand it up.

Zeake, you and I are thinking alike buddy. Thats exactly what I told my wife. With all the crazy *** drivers on the roads these days I would much rather a conv. vette but she is hell bent on a bike.

EXACTLY

ok, don't hate but here's my opinion. If you want a dependable, quiet, low maintenace bike with no flavor, no appeal, borderline makes me fall asleep just to look at it, then buy a gold-wing.

Why not buy a good used FLHTC and be proud to drive American?

either way if it has 2 wheels you're good but I bet you can find a decent HD for about the same price as a boring old GW
