Story from not to long ago!
I'm in odessa tx, going to mcdonalds on 42nd street, I pull up to order box & start ordering. I get my order out, and this guys comes out talking just like me & I get man & start cuss the guy & fly up to window where I'm going to jerk him out of. Well come to find out he really was stuttering.. Man I felt so bad I made him so nervous. I told him I was sorry, I didn't know! Man I felt really bad for a couple of days & still do! I guess it just caught me off guard idk.

I'm super ADD and can't stay focused on any one thing to save my life. Made college rough. Reading a textbook went something like this: read a paragraph (hmm, I need to do some laundry), read another paragraph after laundry (hmm, I'm hungry... Whataburger run), read another paragraph after the burger... you get the idea, haha.

I know how some of you guys feel, I hate the fact that people make fun of someone who has no control over how they were born or the things that have happened to them! I stuttered as a kid as well, I just had to remind myself to slow down and think about what i want to say! It usually works, but most of all i can't have a confrontation with someone, it usually leads to me getting so mad i want to punch them because I can't recall what happened or speak well enough to get my point across! And I will not tolerate someone poking fun at somebody with a illness or disability when i am around........you have your true friends who will mess with you but they know you well enough to do that and are genuinely your friend but I can't stand to hear someone who knows nothing about a person, to make fun of them! Thats my biggest pet peeve

I've always had a pretty radical philosophy about this. My thought is that everyone has SOME form of handicap, be it mental or physical, small or big. There is no fine line between normal and not normal, regardless of how you define normal. How you cope with your own issues and everyone else's reaction to it truly defines you as a person, not the little problems here and there.

I think people who make fun of others usually have something they are hiding theirselves. They just trying to make theirself feel better by making fun of someone else. Goes back to how you were brought up i guess.

I have Tourette Syndrome. I think that might qualify. I've mostly grown out of the nervous ticks, but if/when I get really stressed out or nervous, some of the milder ones will kick in for a while.
It was hell growing up, and going through elementary and middle school. I've read that often times other things like ADD can be associated with Tourette's. I think I may be mildly ADD, I always blame my frequent truck shopping/buying on ADD. LOL

When i was a kid i used to stutter alot!!!! But i dont recall how it went away, my moms says i went to some special language class in elementary and that helped out alot, but i cant recall what age i was....... i never thought of this but after reading this thread looks like i might have some other disorders, but dont worry, dont let other people make you feel bad, they are ********
