oh, that reminds me - another perk of the Grand Sports with manual transmissions is the dry sump oil system

 

I've had many, built 2 SC's of my own but my 07' Z by far was the nicest and def. Has alot more strength built in to it. Yea LS7 have the valve issue but with bolt on's I went 11.x
@ 130.....but my C5Z's have always been my favorite



This car went 10.3 @ 133 at Ato in NJ Oct 15'...may of had a high 9 in it but since moved on
If I get another vette will be a C6 Z06 or ZR1

Best bet for you might be an LS3 slap a blower on it with bolt on's and make 6xx plus...
