Best of luck with it all and glad your safe!

It's always crappy to see these threads, but I'm glad you weren't SERIOUSLY injured. Weird about the airbag, but my sister crashed her Civic and the airbag burnt her arm, so maybe it's for the best. Burns suck. Crash and rally dude!

That totally blows. But I LOL'd when I read your Avatar.

Glad you're okay.
Airbags are designed to deploy in frontal and near-frontal collisions more severe than a threshold defined by the regulations governing vehicle construction in whatever particular market the vehicle is intended for.
If I had to guess I'd say that since you were already hard on the brakes the degree of impact was reduced to the point that it was within the acceptable threshold and deployment of the airbags could have simply busted you in the face.
Had you not been on the brakes I'd imagine they would have deployed.

Just a guess. I'd still let GM know just in case there is something that needs to be addressed.

Dude, I have had that avatar for close to a year! It is kinda fitting to the current situation though.

As for the airbag issue, I would estimate impact speed was 30-35 mph full frontal im not pissed they didnt go off since im not hurt but still thinking they should have. My right ankle and knee hurt worse than anything cause I was standing on the brake at impact.

Ive lost my faith here lately in some of the newer vehicles and their safety features, here is my buddy's Titan that he flipped end over end, crushed the roof on a gaurdrail all after nose diving sharp enough into a ditch to flip the truck.

None of the air bags deployed, and he walked away without a scratch at all, lucky *** bastard

Sounds like the safety features did their job. Airbags would have busted his face a little.
