Default tb ss towing capabilities?

i am considering trading in our cobalt ss for a trailblazer ss, to be my wifes daily driver. but my z28 is becoming more of a track car so i need something i can tow it around with. so my question is how would a tbss handle pulling a 3500# car on a 18' open trailer, or do i need to just keep the car and buy a fullsize truck, i already have a ss s10 to use as a truck i just need somthing to tow with and tbss are badass. thanks

i think you would max out the suspension. my sss wouldn't like it let alone the tbss

there's a few guys that tow f-bodies with there ss's.there rated to over 6k so a 3500# car wont be maxing out anything.just get a trans cooler and servos and letter rip.

yeah but the sss and tbs suspencion is different than the z71. It can do it but will it feel safe? Me personally, I dont think so. car is 3500lbs plus trailer, thats about 700lbs on the tunge. Last time I pulled a toy hauler in my sss with stock suspension was ugly. I wont to it again. Hell even when I pull my 10ft trailer with 4 full size quads my truck squads pretty bad. I would say at least upgrade the tranny and larger cooler and air bags and then it would be safe.

sss and z71 tow package is the same stuff.sss doesnt have the lift blocks in the rear, but the springs are the same.
all tbss have air bags in the rear already.a 2wd ss is rated at 6800#,awd slightly less.it'll tow an f-body...

That has me completely confused. Must not know how to balance a trailer!

the TBSS will air itself up when you drop a load on the hitch so theres no squat. the SSS will squat a little when you put a load on it. the SSS will tow with less drama because its a fullsize truck with a long wheelbase. That said, I pulled a fullsize blazer with my TBSS on a steel trailer that was over 7000lbs total, and it wasnt bad, the weight of the rear probably helps a good bit. I wouldnt want to tow it anywhere that I would need to panic stop though. 4500lbs of car/trailer should be cake, my boat and trailer are around 2000lbs and it tows like its not even there.

people that don't know **** from shineola shouldn't comment, they are totally different. The TBSS has airbags and a 4-link with a panhard bar and a big heavy one ton truck rear end, the SSS has leaf springs and no bags with a lighter rear, the exact same as a Z71 without lift blocks.
