Default Electric Fan Install On Trailblazer SS. HOW??

ok after talking to a fellow member im going with the LS1 fans.

now im going to be putting a 160 deg. thermo in my tbss (yes going to tune it) but would i need to get a dual fan switch. I see summit sells them. So lets say i wanted it to come on at 195 and off at 170. So both fans would kick on at same time or should 1 fan go on and if needed another will kick on. I know others would like to do this swap also so might as well start a thread.

Now to secure the fans to the radiator pretty much i can use zip ties right? ANd i will get the truck tuned with hp tuners for the fans. I know adm makes one but i cant see spending 800 bucks right now on just a fan.

Thanks guys.

i will be looking heavily into this issue starting tomorrow as well norcal. i ve pmed back and forth with somebody else who is going all out into cooling his TBSS so he can rip up and down the mojave desert with it, so he is going COLD!

iam gonna start with summitracing.com with a B and M racing tranny cooler and then likely a bigger alum. radiator and some sort of electric fan set up. ill PM you if i get any good ideas, etc.

Well I installed the ADM E-fan in my truck Staurday, about 1 1/2 hrs, no check lights, comes on when it is supposed to exactly. Drove around with the wife (shopping) all day yesterday in 105 degree heat with the A/C blasting, stop and go and the truck stayed two marks under 210. I did install a 160 T-Stat. Not having that fan whurling away like a 10 wheeler was great. Remember when you pull the fan clutch, you no longer have the speed reference signal or the clutch engage reference signal to the ECU. Pull the connector on the fan shroud, you will get a check engine light and a reduced performance light. That is where the programming comes in. The Flex-fan not a straight bolt on and I don't want to spend 10-20hrs trying to "prototype" a E-fan swap. The "bolt-on" value of the ADM E-fan kit is worth every penny.

10-20 hours lol who said that. and andy said the 292 fits and is a good fan and this is coming from a guy who sells his own fan kit.

lots of us guys cant afford 800 bucks for a fan so this is a good alternative for 1/2 the price and andy told me this fan is the way to go so i trust his advice.

Here's a link to my original post about installing LS1 fans..
https://www.performancetrucks.net/fo...0&page=3&pp=10
And, if you were curios, the dimensions of the radiator are 28" wide by 18" tall, so pretty much any dual 12" fan setup will work.. The TBSS rediator is the exact same size as the F-Body radiator, which is why the LS1 fans are a good cheap alternative.. Only downside is they draw alot of current as opposed to some aftermarket Flex-A-Lites or the like..
