Vibration caused by...

I know this is not the right thread to post this but its the closest I can find. anywho...I got an 01 silverado 4x4. I hit 65+ and it beggins vibrating like hell. I think this may have been cause by my recent off roading trip.
I think it could be a bent or dented drive shaft or broken ball joints. So before I decide to throw a few hundred bucks away, does anyone have any hints, ideas, or suggestions? Thanks!

Check for mud built up on the inside of the wheels. Then check the drive shaft. Just a few ounces can cause a major vibration. If you had a broke balljoint you would know it, you would be calling a tow truck.

ill put money on it your truck is in auto4wd.....go check it and if it is put it back in 2wd. if you have autotrack and accidentally put it in auto4wd it will vibrate like hell when you get on it.

my truck does not have auto4wd. She is direct shift. ;]. I checked every damn joint and the drive shaft is clean. no mud or scratches. So now im going to dish out 20 bucks and get the tires balanced. They are fairly new tires so a need to re balance em anyways.

After you rotate and rebalance the tires, if it doesn't go away do this.
Crawl under your truck with it in 2wd and running. Grab the front driveshaft and see if it spins freely. If it doesn't, to check which end is messed, disconnect it from the diff. If you can then spin the driveshaft freely, then your electrical solenoid on the front diff is toast making it "locked" and you need to replace it. Even though our trucks are "lever" selected on the T-case, the front diffs are electronically or vacuum operated to engage them (depending on the year). It is the way that GM decides to not have the front driveshaft spin while going down the road in 2wd.
If the driveshaft spins freely to begin with then I don't know besides a tire being either out of balance or out of round? And it could be something as simple as that.
Hope this helped.
