Default turbo for towing

Hi guys....I have a 2011 silverado 3500HD crew cab short bed with the 6.0 liter gasser motor 6 speed auto with tow mode and I'm thinking about putting a turbo kit. I tow a 4,000 lb trailer 5 days a week and on weekends I tow a 26' fishing boat with twin motors and looking for a bit more power up hills with less downshifting...Any thoughts or recommendations? I did have Black bear tune it this year.

I highly recommend a tvs roots blower or a whipple kit for your truck over a turbo. Pulling long grades with a turbo is some serious heat under there. A decent blower on 8psi will give you instant torque for pulling and give you the fewest headaches in the long run.

I'd suggest going a different route for a tune as well.

In theory a blower will be less expensive in the long run...

Not sure if that's true though cuz my blower bills are stacking up

That motor has the rectangular l92 heads right? An Lsa blower can be put together pretty economical as of late if you are mechanically inclined.

But I thought I heard somewhere that if you didn't have a whipple, you didn't have squat. BTW if I get rid of my Maggie it'll be to get a bigger one.

Yea a PD blower will rock on that thing. If you're looking for more pulling power look no further than a 1900 kit. You wont even come close to maxing it out and it will be snappy.
