What is a "top end performance kit"???
What does that even mean? What parts are you installing?
This stuff needs information because we really have no idea what the heck you are even talking about.
Put it this way, if parts are assembled so they match and it's tuned correctly, it will not damage the engine. With that said, that doesn't mean it will pull you trailer or your boat etc etc very well because what you buy may make it the opposite of what you want for towing. If you buy the wrong stuff and make it a hot rod engine that only makes power above 3,500rpm, that won't be good for towing anything now will it.

Whatever you decide to do needs to increase power in the 1000-4000 rpm range. Your motor is already pretty strong in this range and I am sure youre looking for 4k-6500 performance boost
I dont know a whole lot about your motor, but later model heads, LT4 cam, different intake and a swap to the 0411 is a pretty common and proven setup
Otherwise, I dont think the TBI is gonna support a whole more than what youve already got, esp since youre at sea level
