Yep. But a low lift with 1.8 ratio rockers get the velocity up faster. I run this combo and it is awesome.

I don't see how you come to that conclusion, in fact, I don't think we're even talking about the same thing.

If you change the rocker ratio, you affectively change the lift rate as well as the max lift of the valve.

All you've really done is amplify the profile of the cam, and if you're doing it with a cam that is designed for 1.7 rockers, then you're undermining the original design for which it was intended.

If anyone worth their salt specs a cam, they can use the more aggressive cam lobes AND spec the appropriate lift without having to address the rockers.

Sorry for the late reply but I haven't visited this thread in years. This graph shows how a higher ratio rocker will give you lift quicker. Notice the degrees at .400". This was spec'd by Roger Vinci and that is about as pro as you can get for truck performance torque cams.

The stg2 truck high lift from tsp will make more power than the low lift. they have dynos of each. high lift gives up nothing and extends the power band by 200 rpm. Cut it on a 111 and have fun.
We sell that combo also. $570 for cam springs and prs.

And that rocker ratio table is from 1.52 to 1.7 which is nearly .2 (2 tenths) of an inch more so not a direct comparison to an ls either.
The gains are ok, but why do that when you can get a cam with better @200+ duration that a heavier and higher ratio rocker would have issues controlling?

Tsp stage 1 truck cam or a btr stage 1 truck cam will work great in a 4.8 for low end. Also cam motion has some great drop in cams that gain off idle. I have a lq4 6.0 with a btr stage 2 and ported 799 heads and it's a torque monster
