On both they balanced great with small weights and are very smooth.

They are still quiet and remind me in the turns how the LTX tires under-steered compared to these. Very grippy in the rain and handle puddling great.

No regrets at all. Highly recommend.
Thanks for the quick response. I certainly liked the reviews on these. If you can actually compare the tire I know I liked and used, to this one, that really helps. I have noticed some understeer on braking, if these improved on that, then they definitely sound better. They are $100 cheaper for a set of four too. I just went and ordered em. Thanks.

I did end up getting those Continental terrain contact tires. I ordered them from Summit on the 26th. Expected delivery was backordered until the 11th, and they arrived on the first. They have a date of 4020 on em, so they are a month old.

The defenders were good, and I had a downgrade since I had them, but I take my turns more aggressive than what I think is most all people on the street. With a manual transmission in a reg cab, I always put into second and accelerate through hard corners at 25-30. I like revving out 3rd gear in highway interchange ramps. I make 1-2 second lane changes. I think I will certainly be able to give the lateral grip a good test. I'll update after I get a good variety of roads and weather on em. Just because I like to be able to add info, here's the side by side, (not sure if someone knows how to "read tread"). Very similar; I can see the lines between the grooves, and more of an angle

Thank you for your patronage adriver. Glad to hear we were able to get the tires to you sooner than expected. Looking forward to an update once you have some miles on the Continental TerrainContact H/T's.

Just looking at the tires screams "Take this Michelin LTX!". I realize going from old, past service age life, worn down tires to new ones will be unfair but I have been running LTX tires for years. The LTX M/S2's were chunking bits of tread off. They are maybe a year past the life designation.

The tires are dead silent, smooth, no vibration, the new store Discount Tire has the latest road force machines, small weights, and they handle very nice. I noticed or was surprised by a little more responsive steering response.
Michelin may have pioneered wet weather handling and braking compounds but others are following suit. I have been a diehard Michelin user since the 90's but they keep getting bolder with the pricing. This Defender line does not impress me either. Anyways, I got them for $275.00 (with a Discount Tire 10% back promo) less than if I had went Michelin.
We shall see...........
I put General (owned by Continental) G-MAX AS-05's on my Charger and they own the rain, handle well, and are wearing very nicely.
How are the terraincontact ht tires holding?

I was just thinking today about how great they are. Lots of rain here in N GA lately and they grip better than any Michelin LTX MS I ever had including the 2. Wearing much better. I have Zero complaints. 25k miles and no signs of rapid wear. I'm hard on tires. Still silent too.

Default Well now

Well, how about that I'm in Georgia too. Just up in Blue Ridge this weekend with the fifth wheel. Thanks for the response I've been wrestling what tires to replace on my dually always liked Michelins but with my tire size 235/80/17 the sizes were very limited. Mostly, to At tires which I don't care for.
