Default NP246 problems

I've got a 2004 gmc sierra 4wd with 190k miles and its making a noise like theres rocks inside the transfer case it dosnt matter weather its in 2wd or 4wd it makes the noise i kinda think its a bad bearing

You were right Kurt the one I have is a floor shift model...

I mean it would work... but your buttons wouldnt engage it I don't think.

hmm well I'm gonna just rebuild mine f going to the junk yard they want between 500 and 600 for one with over 100k on it i can buy a rebuild kit for 80 bucks and then do the oil pump mod for another 80 bucks so 160 ill be into it for

^^^True till you realize the clutches are shot and those around 75 bucks plus they require a special Kent moore tool to set the preload on them. May as well put a new chain in it also. I was in your shoes last week!!

ended up being a bad output shaft bearing put in a case saver also and calling it a day

Good call on the case saver , atta boy !

Btw when we did my 80 install we were going to rebuild my Tcase with 183 k on it , took it apart and it was perfect inside , so just did a pump rub kit and buttoned her back up , she still is launching like beeyatch !!

When you say case saver is it protecting the case from the chain? Just wondering what you mean
