1100 seams kinda pricey for only 3 inches, how does 3 inches of lift look over stock?

There's a ton of trucks around with 3" body lifts. Go to cardomain.com and you'll find some. I personally think that's the perfect height (but would much rather have the skyjacker suspension lift than a body lift).

I'm running 1" of crank on stock keys...about 8 turns on the preload bolts...no change in ride quality, CVs are near stock of course. I wish is was a bit taller though. No problems whatsoever with stock shocks.

well thats the thing Slow, i never even used to wheel after i did that really, it was more or less just for show so i dunno why it woulda did that. when i put it in 4wd and turned the wheel even a lil it would make like a griding noise, it also did it when i pulled out, its hard to describe cause i quit puttin it in 4wd as soon as i realized it was doing that which was when i put them keys on.

Cowboy its basically like havin a 3 inch body lift, you would easily be able to run 305/75/16s.... that suspesion lift would look pretty close to being what my old blue truck looked like maybe an inch smaller, i still got pics of that truck if you click on my sig and then just select that truck

Endo you wouldnt have a prob wit the stock keys being cranked i know that... what i was sayin just buy putting hte ford keys on and leavin them as the same amount of threads as teh chevy keys i think you immediately get atleast an 1" of the bat... then if you crank em wit half threads ill bet you get 2"s outta em which is enough to stretch your shocks to pull that top bushing through... like you siad though you would be ok wit the stock keys being cranked which if i could do it over woulda been what i would have done

Im going to run ford keys and gk bars up front so I can clear 35s and I have a set of rancho rs900x 4" lift front shocks so I dont have any problems. Many guys on GMFS running that setup(with 33s though) with no problems.

You have a few good points and ya people crank them like there a lift kit on the cheap but the problems of angles and travel exist no matter how many people run them.

Longer Shocks seam to be there "Fix" when they max the keys but here is a pic which shows the consequences of cranking keys like it is a free lift kit that shocks can not compensate for..

You see pic ? Thats called a Limit stop , that prevents the UCA from drooping to far and pulling the axle apart , When you crank keys you are closing that distance and in a lot of cases resting on that stop with the UCA just like in photo's.

Notice he has stock shocks which are not topped out and the reason why is GM shocks are designed to travel within the suspension limits , go figure .

To run a 35" tire , the smart idea is body lift and trim with a minor crank , to depend on crank and trim is a bad idea no matter what others might say they have done..

I've had my truck cranked almost all the way to the upper limiter for some time now. Angles kinda suck but I wheel the truck atleast twice a week and have never had any issues. It''s looking like it will be due for ball joints and a pitman arm at the end of the year but, as hard as I beat on the truck they would probrably be due for replacement anyway. No complaints here.

BTW: if you crank to the upper stop the truck is gonna ride really harsh.

I would not raise the torsion bars, either stock or a true 6 inch is the only way to go.
