Default Gas mileage and lifted???

What kind of gas mileage are you lifted guys getting? I'm looking to lift my 01' Silvy 6 inches and throw on a set of 35's. I'm trying to do my homework before I dive into it.

When I had 35's under my '04 w/6" of lift I was getting roughly 14-16 per average per tank. IIRC. That was with the 3.73's in the rear. When I went up to 4.88's (or down to) it stayed pretty consistent at 13-14 mpg. If your you are going to be running 35's I highly suggest installing 4.56's to help your tranny out. While your at it get rid of the factory locker as well. They are known for grenading real quick with larger tires. The don't call them the handgrenade G80 for nothing.

13.5 city / 17.5 highway. With an 06 2wd CCSB 1500, 7" lift, 35's, & 4.56 gears. Maybe it will improve after tommorow when I ditch my POS Pro Comp Xtreme A/T's for some BFG A/T's

I went thru 6 tires overall in a 2 month/1500 mile period with 6 trips to 2 different tire stores. They could never get any of them to balance correctly. 2 of them were out of round. Even the tire guy says that they can get them to balance on the machine, but once they get on the road all bets are out the window. A lot of guys seem to like them so maybe I just had a bad experience. BTW, they're made by Cooper, as are the Mickey Thompson's. Now I'm running 35" BFG A/T's and they feel way better(even my rack & pinion steering is thanking me). True, it's a less aggressive tread(and 6 lbs lighter) but I'm way more pleased

I love the look of the Xtreme A/T's and that tread warranty is pretty nice to. I run the BFG A/t's in the stock size now and love them too. They ride so nice and work well for my type of driving. We will see what happens, the gas prices are pretty much holding me back on lifting the truck. They seem to just go up up up, every week it's higher.

Thanks for the help guys!!!
