Question can i get some info???

My dad is wanting to put a small lift on his 98 silvy and was wondering what to go with. Would a 2 or 3 inch body lift or a 3 or 4 inch suspension lift be better. He don't take it offroading too much so it mainly stays on the highway. He just wants to make it look a little better since its all stock now. Also what size tires should he go with, it'll be on a 16x10 rim more than likely. Some pics of a few trucks with a mild lift would be great if you don't mind. Thanks in advance.

Is this a 1500? And is he wanting to run 33's or 35's?

You can fit 33's with a crank of the torsion bars, but your ride will sitffen up some. Maybe somebody will chime in and say if the ford keys will work in your favor or not.

If it mostly on the street, I would say go for a set of 33's. If the truck does alot of work or gets beat on, steer clear of the body lift.

yes it is a 1500 rcsb 5 speed. He would probably go no bigger than a 33" all-terrain. We may take it backroading and through a few ruts no more than 5 or 6 times a year and probably won't pull a trailer but about that much either. The only reason I was thinking about the body lift because well its cheaper and we don't have a lift or anything to get it on. He doesn't want to spend no more than 500 for the lift.

Then Id say go for a body lift, no harsh ride, no suspension wear, and get the meaty tires.

That was the answer I was looking for. Go for the body lift. its alot cheaper to buy and real easy to install.

Well if you do a body lift, later on it will start to squeak, alot!!!
Good thing with suspension is, from what I see it requires bery little maintenance.
Good luck with your decision.
