Default Break in procedure on gears

Ok I just ordered some 3.92 and and auburn posi, I'm moving up from a 3.55 open diff. I am not too happy about the break in process I have been hearing about to say the least. Have any of you out there said eff it to the break in procedure? Has anyone experienced problems with that? I will take it easy but I am going to the drag strip on feb 9th, do you guys think i'll be ok for 3 passes if I obey the rest of the stuff? So if any of you have driven your trucks like you normally do after a gear change and have been fine, chime in. Thanks everyone.

I have posted this on a few forums as I haven't gotten any responses yet so sorry if you gusy have already read it. I just need some infor on it. Thanks every one.

well we installed mine on a thursday and as soon as we dropped it off the stands i drove like 4 miles down the road and got sideways and havent given it any slack since. I also went to the track that sunday pulled a 12 sec pass without the "proper" break in procedure. I as well as a few more people will tell you that if they are installed correctly you should be fine.
O and i need to change my fluid lol

What I was told was 5 or 6 heat-up/cool-down cycles and then you are good to go.

awesome, thanks guys. I'm having them done at a very reputable shop in my area so the installation should be correct. I will also change the fluid to a full synthetic at 500 miles. I did hear however that auburn doesn't reccomend a full synthetic for their posi unit.

Any more info from anyone would be GREATLY appreciated.

If the auburn doesnt recommend synthetic then i wouldnt run it. I have an eaton an it said the same thing. I run regular gear oil with the limited slip add.
If your paying that kind of money for something then just do what it says IMO.

Anyone know where you can get gears cheap? I have the stock ones on my F150, and run 35's. I wanted to run 37's next. The tranny isnt the issue I have a M5 tranny. I just dont want to lose all of my acceleration? ANy suggestions? I was looking to go to 3.56 gears.
