Default Grip Tite Super Sockets

Anybody ever tried these? The metric set is fairly inexpensive for what you get, and the concept seems right...

Interesting...did the sockets themselves round out? The stripped nut/bolt socket sets from SnapOn are hardened, but ten times the price of these. I usually never buy cheap tools because they are just that, cheap tools...but every once in a while a deal comes along, curious if this is one of those cases, but so far that's a negatory.

How did the Craftsman ones work and what's the price tag?

well in the pic you can see that the nut was completely rounded. thos sockets grap on the flat part on the side so if there is no flat spot it simply wont grab. the craftsman set was only a little more than the other set it was worth the money. i bought mine at sears i think they was $30 or less.

That's a good price, gotta get me a set of those then. I have a few deep flip sockets that style, which are mainly intended for rounded lug nuts and broken wheel locks...they're made by Blue Point and come with a punch to get the stuck nut out

ya this was the cheaper set because its the low profile set. ya thats really all there good for but work great. especially when you can get a pair of vice grips on it.

I've got that same craftsman set, just the deep version. Comes with a punch too. So far it hasn't failed to remove whatever rounded off garbage I've got to deal with. I normally put them on the nut/bolt head, give it a couple whacks with a small hammer to make sure it's got a good bite and then start turning and out they come. I may go get the shallow set too, my deep set with punch was about $45
