My driveshaft left three of these beauties behind as it made it's departure. Probably no power hit, but it seems to sound a bit different. Might just be my imagination. I could cut the pipe down, cap the ends, and freeze water in it like you would a two stroke expansion chamber. Weld it back together later in my fabrication class. I don't think pulling on an attached stick welding rod would work (Herculean force required). Any other ideas on what I could do?

 

maybe rig up some sort of slide hammer. tack a long welding rod on with a sliding weight(the head of a hammer without the handle) and some sort of plate on the end that when struck would Pull up on the dent.

 

a slide hammer and a torch to get it hot would probably work.

 

cut out a 3" section and weld in a new piece of pipe.

The dent fix type stud guns work well.

 

Maybe try the heat and cold air trick thing?? it maybe will pop out. like body shop guys have done.

 

Im with TX, cut it out, weld new metal in, or the torch, slide hammer should work fine also

 

Is that a Cal Speed tailpipe?
