Default Where should I move to?

I'm looking to get out of Odessa in the next 6-12 months and I'm looking for suggestions on where to move to. I've kind of narrowed it down to a few cities based mostly on jobs in my line of work. What I'm looking for is input, most of them are in the metroplex and I've never spent more than a few days in any one of them. So give me some input on whether or not they're shitholes, is the cost of living high etc. Here's my list so far in no particular order:

Irving
Plano
Mesquite
Garland
Grand Prairie
Frisco
Corpus Christi
New Braunfels

Can I ask why? Just curious, like I said I've been to all those places but never for more than a few days so I'm not real familiar with them.

My ex lived in Denton so I've spent quite a bit of time in DFW and imo its nice. If I didn't live in Austin it would probably be close to ft worth. I like the Austin area better though as I'm closer to the beach, badass rivers, the town is very outdoor geared and our weather is a lot more mild. We don't get all the ice, snow, and hail they get up there. I can't give you much insight to DFW but central Texas is nice. It's worth a look atleast.

I agree, there just aren't many departments in central Texas I want to work for.

any of the big cities would be good for your work enviroment...corpus christi prolly would be the cheapest to live in but pay would prolly be less than say san antonio or houston...i love to fish and hunt so im a hour away from the bay...all depends on your hobbys.

You would be surprised, a lot of the big cities don't pay ****. Anywhere has more to do than Odessa, there's a lot of nothing surrounded by nothing here lol. I appreciate the suggestion though.

I think I'll pass, that's a little further away than I had in mind.
