Looks like he was taking advantage of a guy who didn't know the difference. unfortunately for the shop owner there are truck enthusiasts in this area with rcsb 6.0's and ecsb 6.0's and SS's that can compare times and casting numbers. The shop has recently moved because it couldn't afford rent elsewhere, if this turns out to be true i will get with the fbody club owners and disclose all known information from this incident.
I understood the reasoning. I just thought I was losing my mind when I'd refresh and the pages would decrease. And then the 2nd time I noticed some non thead related posts had been deleted and figured someone cleaned it up.

Good to see everyone taking care of each other. I don't live there but i'm REALLY interested and keep checking back on the thread every couple of hours.

cool, the site has already helped get a notorious engine stand back for one of the members that had spilled over from another forum that would never allow for conversations to get "dirty". we allow our members to help each other and take a "texas justice" approach. the guy whose truck it is lives in the same apt. complex that i do and my best friend is the one who posted the OP so i have a vested interest as well.

this **** happened to my friend as well, went to a shop, guy said he would charge 1000 for a used 6.0 with labor.... he said it was only goin to take 2 days, well after almost 2 weeks of goin to check on the truck, he finally got it done, went to drive it, and it felt the same or a bit weaker than before... took off the alternator bracket and sure enough, said 4.8/5.3 on it.... the guy went off with this bullshit story that they told him it was a 6.0 and blah blah blah, finally, we took the truck how it was without payin him for ****. soo got a new 5.3 for free, hahaa

i went there and asked for a cam swap and all they did was unplug two spark plug coils, i thought it sounded awsome cuz of the choppy sound but it was simply missfiring.
