Hey guys/gals. I have vacationed in Texas a few times now (and seriously considered relocating there). While down there I noticed that a huge percentage of the full size newer trucks had what I call for the lack of a better term "Texas Bumpers". Reason I say that is they were very common there (especially in San Antonio, Austin, and in Hill Country), and I haven't seen them much elsewhere.
They appear fabricated of plate steel or diamond plate. They are typically painted black. And they usually have tow hooks built in. The rear hitch receiver is also typically built in. Some are built from tubing.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?
How heavy are they compared to stock? I've always dug them but was afraid of the weight (but now I have a 2007 2500HD "Classic", so weight is less of an issue - my other trucks have been more about speed).
Where do you get them?
Pics and links would be great!!
I need to toughen up my new HD, it is Pewter (Sandstone) and I'm thinking black H2 rims, flares and bumpers may de-grandpa-fy it.
Thanks in advance!

A google search for "texas truck bumpers" led me to this:

This is what I meant, but I'm sure there are others.
I'm a little shocked by the price... is this normal, or are much cheaper (yet still quality) versions out there?

Thanks guys! That is just what I was talking about.
I wasn't ready for the prices though... Anyone have the hook up on these?
Mainly looking for a simple rear replacement, and maybe a bull-bar type up front.

you see them moer in the SA area because there are more deer and ranches/leases out that way. they will save a front clip from a deer (or any other animal in the road haha)
also good for bump gates since they dont scratch as easily.
