6 speed automatic transmission handle a cam upgrade?
just bought a 2010 silverado with the 6 speed and wanted to do some mods like a better exhaust system some ,LT headers ,CA intake, and later a bigger cam for some more hp but I read on someone else's forum that it could mess up the transmission? I need some tips since I'm a beginner at mods lol

It could handle 500+ horsepower if tuned right and running the right torque converter. Very tough transmissions.
Like he said, big dumb wheels and tires that add tons of un-sprung weight and the wrong gearing will have a very good chance at shorting it's life. A transmission tune is a must if you ask me.

I had a 2009 GMC ccsb 4x4 with a 4" lift 35' with Texas speed longtubes and araid CIA. It had a L96 cammed (stock L33 lifter failed, DOD)with the 6L80e and 3000 circle d converter. It definitely took a good tuner. The fist tune the truck ran and drove fine until you floored it then with would sometime feel like a neutral drop and smoke the Sh** out of the tires. That tuner was LUck's performance in Longview then he went MIA before I could go back for a follow up tune.
Got it to another tuner who kept it for 2-3 week and he got it lined out with no problems. The truck would run hard but could not pass a gas station lol
