free rusty brake lines with out twisting the line
I my self have ran into many rusted brake lines over the years. Though I would share a helpful bit of info on how to get the nut loose from the line with out twisting the line. I dont know if its the correct way nor do I accept any responsibility for the use of this knowledge in the case of an accident! With that being said.
tools needed
coleman propane torch
and what ever size line wrench needed for the nut on the line
If you can get the rubber line off the line it works better but it works either way. Take the propane torch and heat the nut till its damn near glowing or just before it starts to. The heat seems to draw the fliud from the line up into the nut wher the line passes thru it. Let the line and nut cool till it turns back to a normal color. Take the wrench for the size of the nut and gently work it back and forth. If you get the line too hot and it melts then you are buying a new line or reflaring the end of the line....
It may just save you a trip to the parts store when you are in a bind.
Hope you guys have just as good of luck as ive had with this trick..
