Default X Vs. R (Subs)

Whats up guys im new to this forum, atleast as a member

So my question is what do yall recommend?

One Type X, Or Two Type R's?
Ported Or Sealed?

Im pretty handy with With cutting so ill most likely be making my own box if its a type x

i currently have a downfire box with 2 no name 10"s Running of a BOSS 1600.1(is this brand any good? Anybody Know the actual RMS?) it hits good but i want something that'll hit harder

My budget is 600 give or take 100.
i will be doing my own installation

This is all going into a NewBody 2000 Silverado 3 Door XCab

The R and the X are designed to deliver two different experiences. The X has decent output, but is geared for quality above all else. It's a well built sub.

The R is more about getting loud. It can still sound good, but it is much less forgiving when it comes to box design, but god does it love a well built, ported enclosure.

Again, you're asking for two different systems. One Type X will not be anywhere near the experience of two Type R's but tuning the Type R's to sound as good as the Type X will be difficult, especially for someone as inexperienced as yourself (no offense).

My suggestion would be to ditch the no name subs and the BOSS amp (which will not put down the rated power btw) and put in two Type X's and a good amp in the existing box. I personally suggest the Arc Audio KS1000.1 for starters as far as an amp. I've been using one to power (read: beat the crap out of) four ARC10D2 subs for about 5 years now and it hasn't given me a single problem.
