Default Where is the best place for power?

I was planning to use a piggyback to get switched power from my fuse box to my gauges, but every fuse I checked had power to it with the key off. What next?

It is a little more work, but I run all my stuff from a relay that is triggered by the fuel pump wire under the hood.

I thought about that too, but I also need power to my LC-1 Wideband and it had a blurb in the intstructions that the trigger should be deactivated during startup (like and AC system is) so that it won't see the spike in current that the startup will cause.

I also have a relay activated by the fuel pump wire for all my accessories. I've been running my LC-1 off of it for almost 2 years with no problems.

I also have an LC-1 wired off that relay. No problems yet. Are there any relays out there that have a few second delay once triggered?
