Default Turn off lights

I have a 00 Silverado and was wondering if there is a switch or a way to turn my headlights off when I wanted to without pushing in the park brake. I know on the newer models the switch allows you to turn them off. Just curious. Thanks.

Push the dome override button 5 times after the start your truck. But when you turn the truck off they come on automatically again.

Ok, so there is not a switch that I can purchase like the newer ones to do so??? Just push the dome override button like 4 or 5 times. Thanks. If there is another way to do so with a switch it would be easier.

this also turns off the daytime running lights, ^^^^do that before you pull the E brake out and the lights will be off, then use the switch or the button trick again

Search and you will find a way to disable the the automatic headlights if thats what your asking. Jump two pins on the bcm and its disabled, i used a paper clip. After that your headlights wont be on unless you want them to be, DRL still work tho when in gear..

Exactly...but I dont know about a paper clip. I used a 1.5komh resistor (5 for $1.50 at radio shaq) in the bcm. U dont need to remove any dash panels or anything. Just crall under the driverside dash and there is the BCM with 3 plugs going into it. Pull the Purple plug out, shoud be the one towards the inside of the truck (towards the center console) and put one of the resistors in from the back of the plug. Put it in the white wire and the gray wire. There are 2 gray wires, make sure and use the gray wire furthest from the white wire. Then plug all back in and you're good to go. Takes 5min tops.
