dunno if it's anywhere close to the same but, on my '02 S-10 I used to have, I pulled the DRL relay in the underhood fuse box. I jumped the bottom right pin with the top middle pin. Pulling the relay disabled the DRLs and jumping the pins allowed BOTH headlights to work when the high beams were on.
Good luck...... not sure if that helps at all but figured I'd throw my .02 in there.
