Default Subwoofer advice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have a JL10"W1 in a stealthbox. this past week i blew the sub due to the fact that my amp was peak powering about 550-600 whatts to the sub. obviously too much for a W1 that is rated at 250watts. The issue i hav is that im having trouble finding a +500Watt sub thats shallow enough to fit in a box thats about 4.5" deep. any suggestions?

If you want to go to slim subs

Memphis S-class > then all other slim subs

also is 600W max and 300W rms

+1 for memphis shallow mounts. No comparison when I heard them side by side next to pioneer and fosgates shallow subs.

i've heard them & used them & i DO NOT AT ALL IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER recommend them for any use besides a paperweight Memphis S Class is the way to go...the memphis subs are truly amazing works of art...you cannot tell they're shallow mount subs that's the fun part

Did you figure out what was wrong with your amp?? Might want to do that first if you havent already before you put the new sub in. And dont get the pioneer, Memphis is the only way to go on shallow mounts.

Memphis is a great subwoofer manufacturer. You could also just use those lil ***** on your amp and turn it down next time.

Distortion and or misadjustment took out your sub. It got lots of dirty signal due to noise in some form or another then said see ya. You can feed a sub over rms or rated wattage all day as long as the signal is not clipped "dirty" Higher than rated wattage "bigger amp" wont hurt your sub as long as it is clean power. Amps need good grounds clean signal input and lots of steady 12V power underload. Sub may have just fried it happens done it myself before. The things I listed above are things to keep in mind and look out for to prevent a repeat with your new sub.

my amp is a arc audio 6 channel. ave been told that the **** will only turn down the input and that it will still deliver 600watt output. also most of my music is "dirty" since im a college student, being that i download my music from limewire instead of paying for it. I kno i have the risk of blowing any sub or speaker with dirty music, thats why i want to find the most durable sub i can. Just spoke to mystereo guy and he says he has a memphis s class in stock and will run the numbers and warrenties to see if it will work for me.
