Default sub outs blown???

My amp powers on but my subs do not get power. I used a multi meter and found that i get approx 12.5 volts battery/ground and same with remote/ground but at both of my sub output terminals it constantly fluctuates between low negative to low positive numbers. (yes, even though its a mono amp, there are two sub outputs because of internal parallel wiring). would this show me there's a problem? if so, what is it? how can i fix it?

check to see if the subs are blown using the ohm setting on the multi meter.....if they are 4 ohms then it should read around 4 ohm, if subs are 2 ohm it should read around 2 ohm, etc.....if it is less than half the ohm load or doesnt register at all then your subs are blown. If your subs check to be fine then it is either your speaker wire or rca's. check this by setting the multi meter to +/- setting so the leads beeps when touching each other. touch the speaker wire and rca's, one of them wont beep b/c there is a break in the wire somewhere. which ever one doesnt beep change it out and youll be good to go.....

Try wiring your sub into a series connections with your amp. If that doesn't work then wire the sub into a parallel connection with your amp.

yea i guess it's the amp but the sub outputs are fine (checked by multi meter) as well as everything else. I've even gone through and checked for signs that i might be retarded (made sure the gain was up some) and i just cant figure this out. Well, I'm moving on with buying all the wiring the amp 'wants' and maybe this will change things (distro blocks to run dual 4 ga instead of a 'shitty' connection with 0 ga)
