Default Strange question

I have a laptop...im gonna be using it for my truck once i get the software..when i dunno....but..i was curious...w/ 570 something songs on it....can i hook it to my headunit via the interface and a RCA converter say for a camera?....There is one called a CameraMate...hooks up to USB and converts to RCA...it is your standard red, yellow, white hook up. Would it work?....i know i can jus hook up an MP3 player and all that...but..im gonna have the laptop in there at times anyways..so why not?
