Default Stereo Deck Keeps Blowning

I recently got a deck in my work truck 2007 Classic. I did the job myself with the kit that keeps the door chime. Everything was working fine. Than 1 day later it stopped working I checked the fuse because the aux fuse blew a few days before that and it was blown. The stereo went about 3 weeks with out blowing a fuse until recently I did a Cam Swap and ever since then the fuse will blow every time I start my engine. When I just turn the key into the ON position it's fine but when the engine turns over the fuse is blown. Any ideas?

I have a Pioneer Deck and a 2007 Reg Cab Sierra 1500 Classic

My guess would be faulty ignition switch.

This is the harness

CRUX SOCGM-17 Wiring Interface Allows you to connect a new car stereo and retains the door chimes and audible warning system in select GM vehicles at Crutchfield.com

Crux SOCGM

What gets me is when I plug in a new fuse and just turn the truck to the "ON" position it is fine. The fuse gets blown when I try to start my truck. The fuse only last 2 start ups. Would the harness still be the one at fault. Going to take apart the dash and see if there are any bare wires but I took my sweet a$$ time doing the install to avoid this kind of thing.

Like I suggested earlier, just replace the electrical part of the ignition switch. This is a pretty common failure when the contacts go bad. Even on the 03-07 trucks with their low-amperage switches, you can still short out the radio accidentally.

I've seen this before.. I'm a install manager. I had one that would lock up and my windows would roll up or down.. etc.. So unless you have a bad deck.. you wanna check it.. I can tell you how to wire a relay off the bcm the same as that's doing only the relay is much stronger than the small cheap ones used in that harness..

It all seems to be working now. I put a new fuse in and it hasn't blown yet I'm now on about 6 start ups.
