Default Which speakers......

Hey guys. It's been awhile since I have posted anything but I am about to fix up a few things in the truck. I have had some speaker issues lately so I am going to replace the rear door speakers. I know they are 4x6 and I currently have some Boston Acoustics that are about 3 years old. I am running a 4 channel amp to both the front 2 speakers (MB Quart 6.5" components) and the rear 4x6's at 50 watts RMS a piece......the amp is not much but I dont feel like replacing it at the moment.

Should I go with a new set of Kappa's or MOMO's for the 4x6 are should I try to squeeze a decent set of 5.25" comps in the rear instead?? Any suggestions or people that have put the 5.25" in the rear? I guess it will help to say I have (2) JL 10" SUBS with a 500/1 JL amp as well hooked up to a AVIC-N1 head unit....

advice and suggestions welcome!

I know they make 4x6 component speakers which is basically a 3" round speaker and a tweeter on a plate. Haven't heard them in our trucks, but I'm sure theyd sound good.

theres really no point in rear speakers for ext cab truck, unless you really care about your passageners. You can achive better imaging w/ out them. IMO i would spend the money elsewhere like better front speakers or better amp.

The only passengers I care about are the ones that give me gas money....so I guess that means I have no passengers I care about. I will prob just throw some different 4x6's in there and go for a better amp. Got any suggestions for a good powered/cost effective amp?

its a orion cobalt from back in the day...200.4

I watch movies on road trips so I want to keep the rears just for those particular times. I am redoing the interior in the truck so I dont want to get to carried away with the system. I already have a pretty decent set-up. The highs are great and the subs crank out plenty of bass....It's the mids I am missing.

it helps a lot if you post a budget... also list whatyou currently have and that would help even more.

i have those and they sound great. i have a reg cab though so its a bit diff. i would just look for some 4x6s or the ones like i have. its for the rear so its not quite important enough to be cuttin n stuff

get you a cheap set of 4x6 and run them off the deck power if you must have rear fill, then bridge the channels of the amp to run the front speakers to get them more than 50 watts and you may notice your mids improving.
