Default Skipping cd player? How to fix it?

Well the cdplayer in the truck right now is skipping on me alot....decent size bumps "there are tons of em around here" will make it skip or if i turn the volume up past 16 it will start to skip. For instance i had it at 20 today and it skipped about 15 times maybe more in less than one minute into the song.
I wanted to see how bad it was if i kept the volume up lol.
So what could the problem be? Is it a dirty lense or something like this?
The deck is firm in the housing so i don't think it's that. Just not sure as i have never had a deck skip like this before.
By the way it's a Alpine deck.

usually a skipping deck is related to the lasers being a little out of position....you can pull the cover off the radio are reposition the lasers and clean the lenses while your in there.....

or to make it easier you can buy a new radio like DLH2006 said, especially if it is 4yrs. old or more....

Talk to alpine. I know a few ppl with alpine decks that started skipping, it was just a dirty laser.

I know that it may not be recommended, but isn't there a product out there for cleaning the laser...a sort of disc that pops in? If it's cheap enough, it may be worth a shot?
