in your auto i think is unness to have that big of a tach mounted up on your dash. how high can you really be shifting? that it would matter seeing the extra 300 rpm. i never looked at my monster tahc in my blue truck anyways i just watched for a shift light.. unless i was sand bagging
edit. i saw you were cammed and blown. with a th400 lol. my bad. i saw extended cab on rims and didnt even think to exspect that

I put a 2 5/8" tach in my 2000. I cut up a gauge pod and used fiberglass to hold it in. If you search under BlackGMC's threads you'll find a pretty good write up on how he did it. I really like it in the pod at the bottom, really easy to see and is very useful with helping me shift. I tend to have the steering wheel down a little bit so its harder to see the higher RPM shifts.
Heres a pic from when I first finished it.

iv seen people put one of those monster tachs on top of the dash beside their a pillar gauges looks good but i would think it would be in your line of site like that. I also have heard that you can buy one of those fancy shift lights and hide it inside your a/c vent beside the door to be stealthy. I think thats what i would do you could always sell the tach and buy that. just addin my two cents.
